Third Eye

The third eye is located between our eye brows, behind the prefrontal cortex (front part of the brain), but in the center of the brain, in the Third Ventricle. Also in the centre of our brain is the pineal gland, responsible for our nervous system. The pituitary gland is responsible for our endocrine system, and the hypothalamus is responsible for our immune system.

The prefrontal cortex center is associated with thinking, intuition, imagination, manifestation, planning, receiving and sending messages, accessing information from the past, present, and future, decision making, memorizing, awareness, leadership qualities, vision, prophecy, etc.

This center is the seat of our conscious mind; it is that which we can’t see, but affects us constantly. This self-conscious mind is reflective. It is a sensitive organ that observes our behaviors and emotions. It also has access to most of the information in our long term memory. It is very powerful when developed with practices of breathing, relaxing techniques, meditating, praying, visualizing, browsing, accessing, downloading information, connecting to nature and to the light, etc. It helps us to regulate, nourish, and balance ourselves better.

Mind over Matter: The Prefrontal Cortex Brain (Third Eye), when developed, helps us to become more mindful and to control our run away thoughts and feelings so we are not bound by them, nor the people around us. It helps us access the felt senses in our body, which allows us to exist but not let it control us. With increased awareness and consciousness, it helps us to control our anxieties, fears, worries, judgements, and limitations. It puts us back into growth mode.

Example: Pick a fear. Start with a small fear, then build a strong desire for an experience that excites you but you are too afraid to do. Make choices that take you out of your comfort zone and protective mode. Meditate, breathe, and visualize it first, then engage into the activity you wish to experience for a short amount of time to start off with.

Practice mindfulness, visualizing exercises, and body movement exercises to slowly free yourself from the negative symptoms. (Take a 1 day class, then next, a weekend class, etc., take a day trip, then a weekend trip, etc., start a new study online, reconnect with a favorite hobby, go for a walk in nature, use all your senses to connect to it, get involved in stretching, dancing, yoga, Tai-chi, Qigong, movement class, etc. It reconnects you to  yourself.
