The Subtle Body

The Subtle Body can be interpreted as the living energy surrounding us. It envelops the physical body in vibrating layers of energy, with each one an octave higher than the other. They are not fixed layers. They are more defined by the different frequencies at which they vibrate. When we experience stress, it creates a blockage in the energy field, and this creates a symptom on the physical level. Clairvoyants say they can see the subtle body as an aura. It can also be interpreted as the invisible double of the human body. It is the not-so-obvious part of ourselves. Wikipedia describes it as one of a series of psycho-spiritual and necessary components of a whole living being, according to diverse mystical teachings. Pretty much everyone can feel different vibrations and different energies around them when they pay attention to their spiritual, physical, mental, an emotional felt senses, as they meet people who have just had a fight, enter a certain type of physical space, walk in nature, and so on. Our emotional vibration as we experience life causes the air itself around us to feel light or heavy, friendly or hostile, nourishing or depleted, positive or negative, etc.
Most people can recognize that, instinctively, energy and vibrations exist all around us. We can choose to work with our Subtle Body, to become aware of it, to nourish and balance it and direct these energies to reach wellness at its highest potential. I believe we are beings of energy. All things contain energy.
There are many theories around the attributes of the Subtle Bodies: Yogic, Tantric from Tibet, Buddhist, Chinese Taoist, and Japanese esotericism to name just a few. They all have a number of specific teachings like chakras, acupuncture points, invisible channels, and more.

Through the choices and practices of different styles of breathing work (the air we breathe), meditation, visualisation, healthy choices of diet, drink, environment choices, physical movement, sounds, positive experiences, study, vitality of spirit, etc., a practitioner can learn to direct and balance the flow of his energy vibrations, and to cause energetic changes in the physical body to reach greater physical health and success. Layer by layer, integrating one new habit, one new practice, removing one unhealthy choice at a time, and restricting our negativity, and choosing to see the positive in every experience will teach us to enjoy the process. We will eventually see that success is in the process.
